One Month later...

Our girl celebrated her 1 month birthday yesterday. It's strange: the days seem to go by slow, but it sure doesn't feel like a month has gone by. She was lucky because her 1 month birthday came with snow.

Our girl has been sleeping the past two days away. I decided to measure her {we aren't going to the doctor for another month} to see if she's indeed been growing. Margo measured at 21 inches long and weighing 10 pounds. What?! She's a champ!

Here are some photos from our first month together: {I do take more than phone pictures, it's just convenient to add those while I blog from my phone.}

She's really enjoying the snow.

Venturing out for a play date with Olivia.

Lula keeping watch during play time.

She loves listening to her daddy read: Reading a story from her children's bible.

How we have spent the last month. Snuggling up together.

Picture of the week

I started a picture of the week thing. {I'm hoping it will help me get into the swing of blogging again.} This week is structure. I'm not too sure how that applies to my sweet little babe, but I took a photo of the first time she wrapped her little fingers around my finger. Here it is:

These last 3 weeks have been life changing. I can't say that we've adjusted to this parenting schedule yet, but we are getting better. I think when you finally adjust is when babies finally change. Margo eats like a champ and sleeps when she feels like it. Our only real struggle is at 5:00am. It still seems impossible to wake up at that hour, but I think it's because it's the last feeding until the sun comes up. I love the lyrics to "You're the Best Song" by Bethany Dillon. The first lines are: "Good Morning. You and the sun are up before I'm ready. But ready or not, you need me.  So here I am." That is exactly how I feel as I walk down the hall to her room every morning at 5:00. I am thankful for the hubs who realizes how hard it is to be up at 5:00 and often volunteers to snuggle our girl.

If you have never heard Bethany's song, listen to it: http://youtu.be/XkCk-76DtKQ. It is the perfect song for new moms and it explains exactly how my heart feels about our precious lamb.

Week by week

Today I went on Pinterest and searched for art projects to do with a newborn. Of course there were the typical foot paintings, but I found this neat week by week photo project for the year. {I'm actually supposed to do these on a camera and not on my phone, but I'll catch up!}

 I missed week 1, but fortunately I took a photo on my phone at the hospital one morning that meets the challenge. I'm not usually a fan of these photo challenges, but this should be a fun one to do. Babies change their looks every week. It'll be neat to look back at how our family changes over her first year.

Week 1: Self Portrait: Morning

Week 2: Retro

I love this sweet girl. I really could never imagine something so small changing my life so much. She's a blessing and we are so thankful for her. I can't wait to see how the Lord uses this sweet baby to bring glory and honor to His name. Our lives will never be the same...

The day our lives changed

It has been one week since I started the laboring process. We went to the hospital 3 times before finally being admitted. It was a long night for everyone. My contractions started at 9:00 pm on Friday and we finally saw our sweet girl at 12:35 on Saturday. I barely remember any of it.

I wanted to share some pictures of the special day:

Getting checked out by the nurses.
Our first moment together.

Our sweet Margo Mae.

Taking in this great big world.

So fresh and so clean, clean after her first bath.

Hanging out in our room

First family photo.

Our first day home.
