Mommy fail

Well, it happened. Last night I experienced my first major mommy fail(s). To be honest, at the end of the night I felt defeated and terrible. I even cried. I went to dinner with some friends and when Margo woke up from her nap she started crying {from hunger}. Proud of myself for being prepared, I pulled her bottle from my bag and started getting it ready for her to eat. It started leaking everywhere and I couldn't figure out why. When I pulled the top off I noticed that there was a missing nipple. I just put the lid on the bottle and didn't double check before packing it. Fail number 1.

Number 2? I went out to the car to feed her in private and when I was leaving the car I slammed her little head against the door frame. That cry was a cry I never want to hear again. It was dark outside so I didn't know what part of her head hit. (Naturally I would worry until I figured it out.) When we got inside the restaurant I noticed that her eyebrow was a tad bit swollen. Two things crossed my mind: thank God is wasn't her soft spot and I hope I didn't damage her eye. My friends were really encouraging about it because she was still very "Margo".

I cried in the car on the way home. Thank goodness she'll never remember last night. Every mommy has one of these days, right?

In honor of my last week with her I decided to post some pictures from the last 2 weeks. Enjoy!

The picture taking mom

The funny thing about being a parent is that every time I think to update the blog Margo needs something. I'm sure I'll get in the habit of posting regularly soon. Things have been really busy and I have a lot to update and share!

I honestly never thought I would be that mom with 500 pictures of my child on my phone. I used to judge moms that constantly put up practically the same picture of their baby. You know what I mean, Monday morning smile, nap time looks, sitting up, Tuesday morning smile, nap time looks, sitting up, Wednesday, Thursday, etc, etc, etc. I mean, in their first few weeks there are only so many different poses you can capture. Well, I'm that mom. I totally understand how each day is new and different and needs to be documented. And I am totally fine with that.

My biggest role the past few weeks has been taking care of this sweet child of mine. She's just an amazing little child. She reminds me so much of Jeremy. She looks like him, in my opinion, and she's calm mannered like him too.

Here are just a few every day pictures of our girl. I hope you enjoy!

Let's start with our week by weeks:
Week 1: can you believe it? This is from the ride home

Week 2: we watched FRIENDS from sun up to sun down.

Week 3: starting to grow her double chin. Baby perfection.

Week 4: My favorite picture. This is how she wakes up every morning. So much happiness.

Week 5: Starting to stay awake longer in the day. Also, she has my serious stare. Oops!

Week 6: cheering on the best team in the NFL, Greenbay! And who doesn't love baby jeans!?

Today, 7 weeks old: hanging out with mommy in the morning.

Now, here are some of my favorites from my phone:

Mommy's first day leaving you alone with daddy. A haircut was necessary.

We started to go for a walk and the dogs were really jealous.

Lula still doesn't know what to think about you.

We visited Historic Camden sites one weekend.

You love your Sophie and your Bo-Bo.

Olivia loves you baby Go-go. She always wants to nap with you.

And in case you didn't believe my obsession, here is just 1 screen shot from my camera.

** I would like to note that I recently decided to pull out the real camera more in an effort to capture better quality pictures and to not have my phone out all the time.

As always, thanks for reading! Xoxo
